Wooooo-man!! Did the amazing women warrior homebrewers come to slay at the first ever Brooklyn Women Homebrew Competition…and slay they did. Congratulations to all the amazing women homebrewers who made HERstory ending Women’s History Month with a big, big bang!! A huge thank you to our generous sponsors, judges and all the happy people that came out to support and have a good time. It was a blast where beer, fun and positive energy kept on giving.

Sycamore Bar + Flower Shop is thrilled to host the first Brooklyn Women Homebrew Competition (and in New York state) during Women’s History Month. Come celebrate and taste over 15 one-of-a-kind beers made by local women brewers and vote for your favorite homebrew for the People’s Choice Award.

Our esteemed panel of judges will also be tasting and selecting the Judges’ Choice Award for the best taste beer with a winning prize over $500 cash and gift certificates. And, one lucky winner (Brewer’s Choice Award) will get to brew the selected beer by Brewer Mary Izett at Fifth Hammer Brewing with a release party!!

Judges’ Choice Award — winner selected by the panel of judges for over $300 cash and gift certificates, and mega basket prize.
Peoples’ Choice Award — winner selected by popular vote of all ticket holders for over $250 cash and gift certificates, and basket prize.
Brewer’s Choice Award — winning beer selected by Mary Izett from Fifth Hammer Brewing will be brewed on Fifth Hammer Brewing 15-bbl system by Brewer’s Choice winner and Mary Izett, Co-owner and Brewer of Fifth Hammer Brewing, and will have a release party in Fifth Hammer Brewing tasting room.
Homebrewers’ Peer Choice Award — winner selected by the homebrew competitors for loaded, over-the-top Dogfish Head gift basket.

Competition Info:
Brooklyn Women Homebrew Competition will take place at Sycamore Bar + Flower Shop (1118 Cortelyou Road, Brooklyn) on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 2-5pm.  The winner of awards will be based on best overall beer taste.  There will be no style guidelines.  Contestants will compete for Judges’ Choice, People’s Choice and Brewer’s Choice Awards.
